first sleepover

Adeline had her first (non-relative) sleepover recently.  Her sweet little bestie, Sabrina came over on a friday night for an evening of classic sleepover fun.  They painted each other's fingernails, watched movies, ate popcorn and candy, and stayed up super late (for a couple of five year olds!).  They were so sweet to watch.  It feels like we were entering a whole new chapter of Adeline's life these days.  One filled with friends, school, activities, and independence.  I can already see how the role her friends play is taking on more significance in her life.  It has been wonderful to observe the relationships that she is building and watch her blossom into the incredibly sweet girl that she is.  It is such an exciting time for her.  So many new things to experience, so much life to explore.
