part five : camping

I apologize in advance for the ridiculous amount of pictures.

Summer in Colorado : Part Five (camping)

We took camping a little less seriously this year. Last year we packed everything in a couple of miles, which required all adults to carry a 50+ pound pack and at times carry a toddler along with your pack. It was great fun and all, but this year we weren't feeling quite as hard-core. We drove up to our campsite.

It was Claire's first time camping. Addie and Hayes went last year, but I don't think they really remembered. So all the kids were very, very excited about the tent sleeping. All the kids slept fine. None of the adults got any sleep to speak of. Isn't that how camping always goes?

We had a beautiful campsite right on a lake. There was exploring, collecting, rock skipping, hot dogs, hot chocolate and of course, smores. Hayes spent all his time peeing on rocks, throwing rocks, jumping off rocks, and poking things with sticks. He was in heaven.

{All of these smores pictures crack me up. Can you tell they were really, really enjoying them?}

{This is the "Claire and Addie Show". It went on for at least 30 minutes.}

{She was in a silly mood.}

{Hot Chocolate. For breakfast. Vacation rules, doesn't it?}
