the shelton family.: 15 minutes of fame

NOTE : For the purposes of this post, the name "Addie" will refer to my friend Addie, who is a grown up, not a baby, and definitely not my daughter.

On Wednesday night, my friend Addie was thrust into spotlight for her 15 minutes of fame! She is going to be on What Not To Wear!!! First off, lets just say that Addie is adorable. She may have a few clothing items that are not the peak of fashion, but she is definitely not a total disaster. Her fiance, Ian, nominated her last February which is right after they had their son, Julian. He did it purely out of love thinking what a treat it would be to have a whole new wardrobe if she was chosen. BTW - we met Addie in our Bradley method childbirth class. So fast forward to November and Ian got a call that they wanted to do a show on Addie! So they have been secretly filming her and gathering up all her friends to ambush her, give her a bank card with $5000 on it and send her to NYC to go shopping! It all went down on Wednesday night at a concert Ian's band was having.

Robert and I along with some other of the girls from our childbirth class were there to represent the "mommy" side of Addie. It was so funny how they categorized her life for the show (i.e. you have these sets of friends : mom friends, work friends, college friends; you have these types of clothes : hippie, grandma, 80's).

During all the down time between filming we got to hobnob with the hosts, Stacy and Clinton. It was quite an experience. I can't wait to hear about it all from Addie's perspective. She's headed to NYC at the end of the month for her big shopping spree and makeover! I don't know when the show will air yet, but I'll be sure to post it once we find out!
