week 'o fun... warning- this is a LONG post!

Adeline and I had a busy week of travel last week. We left Austin on Monday of last week and just got back Monday night. I spent the past 2 days trying to catch up on laundry & cleaning, so now I'm finally having time to update the blog. We did a LOT during the week, so it'll be hard to try to include everything. I'll just hit the highlights...

First of all, we were only planning to go to The Woodlands and were going to be gone from Monday - Friday, but the opportunity arose to head to Alabama to visit family and we just couldn't' pass it up! Addie got to see almost ALL of her cousins during the week, so it was well worth the trip!

The Woodlands was first and we jumped right in the action. We got in on Monday at lunch and spent the afternoon at the pool with Adeline's Grammy, Aunt Natalie, and her Kelly cousins. She absolutely LOVES being around them... so much action to be a part of. Plus, she LOVES the pool, so as you can imagine she was in heaven! She skipped a nap and played like crazy. Then promptly crashed when 'safety break' was called and I put her in the mei tai wrap. :)

Next on the docket was Addie's first trip to the Zoo. She loved it. I got a break from carrying her around because Aunt Natalie offered to do it. It felt so strange not having a baby on me so I had to put Becca in the sling for a little while. :)

A rare picture with all the kidos actually looking at the camera. Too cute!! ...BUT, it's missing Becca... we'll have to photoshop her in!

On Wednesday, we planned to go to Splashtown to celebrate Noah's birthday, but the weather did not cooperate. Since it was Noah's special day, he chose to got to Main Event instead. Elijah got sick last minute, so it was just Gee-gee, Noah, Adeline and me. Gee-gee held Addie so Noah and I could play games until we dropped! My favorite was the horse racing. Main Event was an excellent choice, Noah! Sorry... no pictures to post... they were all on Gee-gee's camera.

Addie also got to see her cousin Blake on Wednesday. He's leaving for Iraq at the beginning of August, so it was nice to see him before he ships off! She also got to play with her cousin Samantha a little bit. Then we had dinner with Maw-maw (Adeline's great-grandma). Talk about covering all the bases!

Thursday we stared the trip to Alabama to visit Aunt Cynthia and cousin Claire. This was Addie's first time to meet them, so we were super excited. Claire was a bit skeptical of Addie at first. She was too cute... immediately taking note of Addie's "tiny little hands" and her "tiny little feet" and her "chubby little legs!" Claire warmed up to Adeline really quickly and was great at helping to take care of Addie! She really liked Addie, but LOVED Addie's toy cell phone. Claire kept "accidentally" referring to hit has "her" cell phone. Aunt Cynthia had to keep reminding her that it was actually Adeline's cell phone and it would be okay for Addie to play with it, too. I haven't seen the cell phone since we got home. It must have been left in Alabama by "accident". :) We played for 3 days, then it was time to head back. Just before we left Aunt Barbara, Uncle Charles, Cousin Ben, and Cousin Dorothy made it back in town so we got to spend a little time with them before we headed out on Monday morning. They had been away at a funeral for a family member which is always hard. Uncle Charles was definitely exhausted... not only did he send his mother-in-law home with HIS suitcase, but he also brushed his teeth with hemorrhoid cream one morning!! I'm sure he just did it for some much needed comic relief, right Uncle Charles?? :)

Addie and Claire both LOVE the swings!

Gig 'em, Claire!

And now we're back home, but not for long. We leave tomorrow for a weekend in Denison with Adeline's Grandmommy! Stay tuned...
