book worms

I love that the kids love books as much as they do. It's never a chore to get them to read. They will pretty much stop doing anything for story time. Some of their current favorites...

Adeline is taking a break from the Little House series (mostly because I keep forgetting to request book #8 from the library). We are reading some from the Thea Stilton books and Magic Tree House series. She is really getting into non-fiction books now. Books on the human body and sea animals are in high demand right now. Of course, she still loves picture books as well. We go through a ton of library books every week.

After a brief break (pesky bad dreams), Claire and Cynthia are back to reading Harry Potter. They are in the first book, which is the most tame. They get a bit scarier as they go along, so she may need another break or two before they get through the entire series. She is also loving Where the Sidewalk Ends and A light in the Attic. I think non-fiction science related books are in pretty high rotation as well.

Hayes is sitting for longer and longer books every day. I don't think it will be long before he starts in on chapter books. He still loves books. Loves to look at them by himself, loves to be read to. He has eased up on the digger books a bit. Spider books a his favorite right now, but like Adeline he still loves all different types of picture books and explores heaps of library books every week.
