5 months in review

It's a little tough to recap 5 months worth of Adeline's adorableness, but I'll give it a shot. I suppose it is best accomplished with photographs. Here we go (in chronological order)...

Day 2 of life... Gee-gee and Papa were still around for Addie's second day in the 'outside world'. We ate Christmas leftovers and watched Addie sleep. What a great day.

First week... Robert, Addie and I were on our own for the first week. All the family went home and we spent the week getting to know our little girl and falling madly in love with her.

Week 2... Grandmommy came back to Austin to stay with us for the week so Adeline had yet another set of arms to spoil her rotten. :) At the end of the week we went to visit Adeline's great-granny and great-granddad at the farm.

Week 3... Robert had to go back to work after 2 weeks off so Addie and I were spending our first days home alone together.

Boy did she hate getting out of the bath!

Weeks 4 - 7... This was Addie's seriously fussy period. She made her first trip to The Woodlands to meet her cousins (who adore her!) and during the trip she showed Grammy & Papa how she had found her voice and her talent for fighting off sleep at all cost. It was at this point that Papa started calling her "Nataline" after her Aunt Natalie who has always shared the same mistrust of sleep.

Cranky... who, me?

That Gee-gee is so funny!

Two months old... Addie stared to calm down a bit at this point. She was still a major mama's girl, but she wasn't nearly as cranky. We made a trip to Denison and Addie and Paige went to Gee-gee and Papa's new house in Winter Park, Colorado (Robert had to work... poor daddy!). Gee-gee termed the week "Learn to love your Grammy week" since she kept Addie during the day all week so I could ski. They stayed at the bottom of the mountain at the lodge so I could ski down and see her at any time, but it was still so hard to leave her for the first time!

Three months old... By this point, Addie was a fairly happy baby. We made another trip to Colorado to ski (this time Daddy got to come along) over Easter weekend. We also started hanging out with the other moms and babies from our Bradley childbirth class a lot.

Four months old... At last... Addie becomes social! Around this time Adeline became quite a social butterfly. She also learned to roll over! At the end of the month, 'Aunt' Julie had baby Emmy, so we went to Stephenville to see her... I could not believe that Adeline was that small just a few months ago!!
